“darktable” has an easy-to-access overlay that highlights the sharpest parts of your image. This would be helpful within the Flag and Reject feature - it can be used to better determine if your subject is in focus before approving. Sometimes the previewed image isn’t the full-res image, making it hard to identify if your subject truly is in focus.
